3 days in Paris

Ever since I went on a sibling holiday with my brother to Scandinavia back in 2017, my little sister has never forgotten my promise to take her on a girls trip! Last month in June she finished her GCSEs which made for a perfect excuse to make this promise a reality! Our little get away would include 3 days in Paris...

1. Louvre

This is where the Monalisa can be found. Students get free entry-remember to bring student ID! We didn't end up going into the museum but instead enjoyed the outside, looking at the big glass pyramids.

It can be accessed on lines 1 and 7 of the metro.

METRO TICKETS- we bought a pack of 20 single metro tickets. That meant it was costing us around €1.50 a journey.

2. Arc de Triomphe

This is one of my favourite places in Paris. It can be accessed on the number 1 and 6 metro line, or you can walk along the Champs Elysees avenue where all the shops are. It is one of my favourites because its free for students (under 26) to go up to the top where you get the best views of Paris and the Eiffel Tower. REMEMBER YOUR ID! My sister didn't have any ID on her so we had to send a message home to try and get one of our parents to send a photo through of her old passport. Incredibly this idea worked!

3. Eiffel Tower

We did not prebook anything, we just turned up! The queue was not bad at all considering it is in peak season! It lasted an hour, tickets were £11.50 student rate to get to the top via the elevator. Stairs and second level tickets are cheaper. To get the best views of the Tower go to metro stop Trocadéro (lines 6 and 9).

4. Recruitment Cafe

Get off at metro stop La Tour (line 8). This Cafe has the most gorgeous street views of the Eiffel Tower. We sat and had something to eat here. Not cheap but really not as expensive as I thought! our burgers were around €15.

5. Sacré-Cœur

Our Airbnb was about a 20 minute walk from Montmartre. Walk to Sacré-Cœur from behind, it is more of a gentle uphill climb and you get to see lots of cute streets and Cafes. If climbing isn't for you, there is a funicular that takes you up (stop at Anvers metro line 2). We spent most of our time up there listening to street performers music.

6. Notre Dame and Saint Chapelle

Saint Chapelle is literally the most beaitiful church I've ever seen! It is free for under 26s and you get to skip the queue! Definitely worth a visit. Notre Dame is a short walk away, since the fire you can't go inside, but it's worth a photo! There are a lot of restaurants near Notre Dame which do decent three course meals for €10-€15 so i would definitely recommend heading there for dinner!
