Brussels

So our last visit before heading home to england was brussels! We stayed at a family friends house, i used to live in Brussels so my family have some connections. We spent our first night with Emis family (they came to visit just before catching the train back) at the grand place. The Grand Place is very near the centeraal station, we wandered down to the square where there are beautiful buildings and had a look aorund. We also visited the Mannekin Pis which is a tiny statue of a boy peeing, its a famous statue in Brussels. Then we went out for lunch, the waitors are very pushy and will invade your personal space in order to get you to sit down at their restaurant! I got a waffle which was incredibly sickly but so yummy!

On the second day we went to go see my old house before going to the Atomium. We caught the no. 7 tram to Heysel and then bought a combo ticket for the Atomium and mini europe. We went up the atom shaped building and saw a view of brussels, then we went and saw a light exhibition that they had on in one of the 'pods', it was very cool! Then we got some lunch before heading to mini europe, it was really interesting to see all the famous buildings of europe. We recognised some of the builds from countries we had visited over the past couple of weeks, we also saw some brexit protestors outside of the mini parliment in london. Then we caught the metro back to the Grand Place to do some chocolate shopping!

The next day we went to Leuven, it was rainy and wet so we hide inside for a bit. We had a look at the impressive buildings and Emi bought some sweats. Then i got a pizza for lunch before we started making our way back to the station. We spent the other part of the day resting, getting ready for travelling back to the UK. We caught the eurostar the next day and made it to london st pancras at about 8pm, local time. We then got a train from waterloo to Winchester and i got back home at 10:30pm.
