My next big adventure in 2020!

Hello!

It has been a while since I 'graced' the internet with my blog posts, but as my next big adventure draws closer I thought I would tell people what I will be up to.

I will be heading to NEW ZEALAND for my next trip in January 2020. As part of my university placement I'll be heading to Tauranga, 3 hours south of Auckland to complete a YWAM programme.

What is a YWAM program? This is literally the first question I get, and it makes sense as it's not a very well known program if you don't go to church. In a nut shell, Youth With A Mission (YWAM) is a missionary program for young people. These programs are run all over the world! I actually managed to stay at one when I went to Cape Town for a long weekend back in 2017. I am doing the program that is run in New Zealand. For the first three months they call it a 'lecture phase' where students (like me!) spent 3 months learning about God and themselves, and then for the final 2 months I will go on 'outreach' where I will put what I've learnt into practice. I will also get to do amazing things like white water rafting whilst I'm in New Zealand, so the course is super fun and I cannot wait to get out there!

Because this is part of my university placement, I will hopefully be able to do research for my dissertation - but more news on that later when I have a better idea about what I want to write it on!

I will also be squeezing a little trip to LA before I head to New Zealand to go and visit some really great friends of mine, so no doubt there will be a blog post on that!

After the YWAM program I also plan on going to India and maybe some other places around South Asia. This is all dependant on my dissertation plans. But for now the idea is that I leave on the 10th of January 2020 and return sometime in September before starting my final year at university.

I hope this makes my plans for the next year a little clearer. I am definitely not 100% sure of what I am doing, but that's the heart of an adventurer right? Being prepared to leave without fully knowing what will happen.

I will keep this blog updated during my travels so do watch out for updates on Instagram and Facebook!

Have a great Christmas and I will see you in the new year!

E x
